For all you Pirates out there. Next session when you create your character, if you like, you can print your own set of Pirate Edge/Hindrance cards to use. The link below is the complete set of them. If you do, print them at full size and not "To Fit" sized. Happy Pirating!
Our adventure begins in the "lovely" port city of Santo Domingo, where a new group of heroes is searching for their captain. And what a surprise they receive...
After becoming acquainted with their new captain, the well-known and respected Lady Zoe, the crew of six returns to the Admiral Drake Inn, reputably the best inn in all of Santo Domingo. The crew visits the bar while the captain retires to her room upstairs. Knowing that the party's rounds have been paid for at the bar, Balloch proceeds to drink like a madman. Over at the counter, Jim is feeling very uncomfortable after seeing sandwiches on the restaurant's menu.
Suddenly, an African man in shabby clothes wanders into the bar. The party takes note that he is looking a little too shabby for this part of town. He does, however, appear to be unarmed. In a moment of very poor judgment, the now-drunk Balloch turns to stare at him. "What 're you lookin' at?" The man appears physically shaken, and Sir Fairchild offers him a drink to calm him down. After whispering a message to the party, he leaves the bar. "If you want to take my offer, meet me outside." Not sure what this could mean, the crew wanders outside to meet with their mysterious guest while Fairchild helps Balloch upstairs.
After listening to the messenger, our heroes begin heading to the Gravedigger's Inn to meet with the so-called "Captain Bobˇ". ▄ndernacht knows from past work in Santo Domingo that this inn is in one of the seedier parts of town. Not thinking the man will notice the absence of the small girl in the party, "Talon" readies her climbing gear to take up a better position on the rooftops. The messenger is unfortunately very alert and tells her to come back down with the rest. He now seems to be counting the party members, almost as if to prevent their escape...
Soon after, the crew notice a large Scotsman galloping down the ally toward them. Balloch has miraculously managed to find his way through the streets completely drunk to catch up to the party. Shaking their heads at his stupidity, they walk up to the door of the Gravedigger's Inn.
The messenger leads the crew through the loud, crowded bar and up the stairs. He then takes them through a door, where they stand face to face with a tall African man. He appears to have some kind of ritual scars on his face, and a monkey rests on his shoulder. As the crew moves into the room, Balloch eyes the monkey twitchily. Suddenly, the monkey speaks, shocking all in the room. "Hello. I am Captain Bobˇ. I am in charge here." Unable to stare at this talking abomination any longer, Balloch dashes down the stairs and begins another round of heavy drinking. As the monkey continues to speak, the party hears of a strange tale of lost treasure, curses, and the captain's former crew which is coming to kill them at this moment.
As the story continues, the crew learns that the captain was cursed by the voodoo shaman Dˇmino, who lives on some unknown island, for trying to steal his treasure. After he was transformed into a monkey, his crew mutinied and he barely escaped with his life. However, the treasure still remains on the island: 100,000 gold doubloons.
The captain wishes to hire the Lady Zoe and our band of heroes to search for the treasure, whose location is known only to Bobˇ. He offers ten percent of the treasure as a reward, but if they can manage to kill Dˇmino, he will raise it to thirty percent (a very generous portion).
While the crew thinks it over, Bobˇ points out that his "horse", the man he is sitting on, has had his tongue removed and thus cannot speak. Bobˇ urges the crew to decide as they have very limited time before his less-than-happy crew arrives in town. The party decides to accept the offer and talk to Lady Zoe about it later. They begin to move downstairs, with Bill staying behind for a private conversation. Bobˇ tells Bill to search for a specific crew member by the name of Ben Cannon, who stayed behind on the island after the mutiny.
Meanwhile, downstairs, Balloch has returned to his usual state of drunkenness and is harassing the bartender because he thinks the drink is "weak". ▄ndernacht has ordered a sandwich at the counter, much to the discomfort of Jim. Soon after, Bill comes wandering downstairs and takes a seat at one of the tables. A few crew members buy a bottle of wine to fill their waterskins, Balloch not noticing the suddenly doubled price for his. At this moment, Lady Zoe walks into the bar with a miscellaneous gentleman at her side ("My, what a disgusting place this is!"). She calls out to the crew to leave, but Jim does not hear her as he is busy hacking apart ▄ndernacht's sandwich. The rest of the party walks toward the door and informs Lady Zoe of the agreement with Captain Bobˇ. She seems surprisingly accepting of the offer and the crew walks out of the Gravedigger's Inn onto the dark streets of Santo Domingo.
What lies in wait for our heroes? Find out NEXT TIME..... on the Agency Star!
P.S. How did I do with my first write-up?

After leaving the Gravedigger's Inn, our heroes learn about the Lady Zoe, the ship they will be using to search for Bobˇ's treasure. It is a well-built two-masted galley, with a month's worth of provisions for the entire crew. While Zoe introduces herself to Bobˇ, positions are given out to the crew: Sir Fairchild will be Lieutenant, Balloch the Master of Guns, Jim the Helmsman, Bill the Shipwright, Talon the Sailboy (Girl), and ▄ndernacht the leader of boarding actions. While preparing to set course, the party talks to Bobˇ a while longer and finds out that he is very sensitive about the way his name is pronounced.
Some time later, the Lady Zoe sets sail. Despite having a skilled navigator, the crew's first attempts at navigation do not go well due to the lack of a compass. As a result, they end up sailing aimlessly for the first few days. Later, much too late for the crew's amusement, Lady Zoe herself suddenly remembers that she has a compass in her room. Shortly after, the ship arrives at its destination: "La Isla de los Maldecidos". Fairchild takes note of the ship's remaining provisions: they have used up five days' worth of food. As they disembark, Bobˇ describes the layout of the island: it is approximately 4 miles long and 2 1/2 miles wide. He also tells them that it is about a thirty-minute walk to the plantation where the voodoo shaman Dˇmino lives. However, he does state one condition: He and his men will seek out the treasure alone. Obviously, the party is opposed to this, and Fairchild points out that the Lady Zoe and her crew are essential to the mission. Taking this into consideration, Bobˇ strikes a deal with Fairchild. Bobˇ and two of his men will go with the party, and Fairchild will stay behind with the remaining five to watch over the ship. After agreeing to these terms, the rest of the party begins the trek inland.
Walking through the swampy grassland, the crew notices an eerie atmosphere to the island. To get a better view of the area, Talon climbs up into one of the many trees lining the path. A few minutes pass by, and Dˇmino's plantation home is soon within sight. Soon after, Bill notices sudden movements in the tall grass. Before the party can react, they are rushed by a group of carnivorous apes. Panicking, Balloch manages to stun one with a shot. The crew frantically draw their weapons as the apes close in. From her perch in the trees, Talon viciously slings a spear at one of the apes, killing it instantly. Jim and ▄ndernacht act quickly and begin driving the enemies back. The party gradually thins the numbers of their attackers, and within a few minutes, the apes are all but defeated. Lady Zoe rides forward on her beloved horse, Pepper, to survey the situation from a safer distance. Leaving the two remaining apes behind, the party advances toward the mysterious building...
Continuing the battle against the apes, our heroes manage to hold them off. Talon recovers her spear while Bill revives one of the downed extras. Balloch has curled into a ball in terror due to his fear of monkeys. Suddenly, Captain Bobˇ breaks away from the melee and dashes toward the plantation home. Meanwhile, the battle comes to a close as Jim and ▄ndernacht swiftly finish off the remaining apes.
Brushing themselves off, the crew begins heading closer to the building. Balloch has recovered from the trauma and rejoins with the party. As he meets up with the rest of the crew, though, he thinks he hears movement up ahead. His suspicions are confirmed when ▄ndernacht and Talon spot shadows moving inside the home. The shadows suddenly disappear, then reappear shuffling out of the front door. Bill's eyes widen as he identifies the shapes: zombies! He quickly alerts the rest of the party, and with a chilling realization, Fairchild recognizes the zombies as Bobˇ's former crew. Balloch readies his rifled musket, but Bobˇ has already sprung into action, blasting away one of the zombies. As the party prepares for battle again, a phrase can be heard from one of the rotting corpses: " You have returned. You must die for leaving us here."
Zoe takes advantage of the combat to dash ahead on her horse, Pepper. While away from the party, she looks inside the open doors of the plantation home. To her surprise, she spots a clearly crazed man standing at the top of the stairs, seemingly watching over the battle. After Zoe persuades him to come outside to talk, the man introduces himself as Ben Cannon, the former first mate of Captain Bobˇ. He expresses his anger with Bobˇ, accusing Bobˇ of leaving him and the others on the island to die. Zoe thinks about asking him why he left them, but decides it is better not to argue with a crazy man. Before Zoe can say any more, Cannon pulls a cutlass on her and forces her to dismount her horse. Jim moves up and takes aim at Cannon with his bow, but Cannon has already dragged Zoe inside the house.
The battle rages on in the swampy plain. A few zombies have been killed, but not before taking down both of Bobˇ's men. "Horse" whips out his blunderbuss and blasts two of the zombies, only to barely scratch them. After aiming for quite some time, Balloch takes a deadly shot into the melee, completely annihilating one of the zombies. Bill dashes into the building before Cannon can get away and takes a shot at him as well, but Cannon appears to be a lot tougher than he looks. Despite the efforts of Bill and Jim, Cannon manages to escape into the house with Zoe as a hostage. Deciding not to go after Cannon until the party regroups, Jim shouts into the house, "Why does our captain want you dead?" His only answer: "You'll have to ask him that yourself."
Meanwhile, back on the Lady Zoe, Fairchild is watching over the ship when, suddenly, he is bludgeoned into unconsciousness by unknown attackers. Before he blacks out, he feels ropes being tied around him and himself being carried away. It seems that Bobˇ's crew have something else in mind for the party...
Fairchild awakes to the sound of rushing water. Struggling to focus in the deep water, he unties himself and rushes to the surface. After making it to the shore, he sees the Lady Zoe sailing away with her new crew. He begins running inland to warn the party of the treachery.
The battle has come to a close on the swampy plain by the time Fairchild arrives. He runs toward the party, shouting: "We've been betrayed!" At the same time, Horse and Bobˇ enter the plantation home. Determined to follow them, Talon dashes through the front doors as well. From the foyer area, she can see a room on either side and a staircase up ahead. She decides to enter the room on the right and is greeted by what appears to be a drawing room of sorts. There are many taxidermied animals in the room, mainly alligators and small rodents, but most alarmingly, several human heads mounted on the walls. Eerily, as she continues walking through the room, their eyes seem to follow...
Meanwhile, the rest of the party has decided to move into the building to follow Bobˇ and Horse. Zoe's beloved horse, Pepper, dashes around the side of the building to escape the chaos. ▄ndernacht, stealthy as always, instead attempts to pick the lock on one of the first floor windows. Before the rest of the party enters the building, they observe a zombie fly out of a second floor window. Not sure what this could mean, they continue forward into the strange building.
Talon has moved on to the next room, which appears to be a dining room. The table has been chopped apart, probably for firewood. She hears the rest of the party approaching, when suddenly, they all hear a gunshot upstairs. This is followed by sounds of running and shouting, and before Talon can react, two zombies fall through the ceiling behind her. One is killed by the fall, and the other tries to attack. Bill shouts out a warning to all in the room, and the zombie is quickly disposed of. Looking up through the hole, Talon spies two more zombies looking down at them. She flings a dagger at one, then dodges out of sight along with the rest of the party.
Jim enters the building, and finds in the room to the left an oil lamp, a small amount of tobacco, and a pipe made of bone. He takes all but the lamp, and is about to leave the room when he hears a terrible creaking noise behind him. He turns around to find ▄ndernacht climbing through the window into the room. The sound has alerted the entire party, and ▄ndernacht shakes his head in shame at being discovered. The party regroups and decides to head up to the second floor. Shortly after, the sound of a blunderbuss rips through the house, and Zoe can be heard saying, "Get him, Cannon!" More shots are heard, and Zoe is soon seen running down the stairs. She informs the party of the situation: "I have... preoccupied Bobˇ, Cannon, and Horse. The halls upstairs are filled with zombies, and I managed to hear something about the treasure." When asked what happened upstairs, she replies: "I persuaded Cannon to help me, and one thing led to another."
What lies in wait for our heroes upstairs? Will they be able to suppress the hordes of zombies? And what are Bobˇ's true intentions? Find out NEXT TIME on... the Agency Star!
Our heroes dash upstairs, only to immediately run into more zombies. As the rest of the party begins fighting them off, Lady Zoe leaves the building in search of her beloved horse, Pepper. In the midst of the temporary chaos caused by the zombies, Talon feels a musket ball graze her arm. Seconds later, she hears Captain Bobˇ's voice behind her. "Sorry, young lass! I was aiming for the zombies!" The rest of the party takes no notice of it as they are busy with the zombies, but Bill senses something wrong with the situation. He whispers to Talon that Bobˇ was in fact aiming for her, and advises her to take cover before he tries to again.
With the two zombies having been eliminated, the party shifts their attention to the room past the stairway where Bobˇ is standing. Bobˇ hurriedly unlocks the door behind the stairs and runs inside, locking it behind him. Ben Cannon does the same across the hall, taking advantage of the distraction. The party moves forward, and allows Fairchild and Bill to examine the lock. It is like no other lock they have ever seen, and appears to have a strange aura surrounding it. Meanwhile, Talon has moved farther ahead and found a kitchen. She immediately notices that the kitchen is splattered with blood, on all the walls and in the sink. A further glance reveals a set of bloody knives on the countertop. It appears that Dˇmino uses this room for more than just cooking.
The party decides to leave the unusual lock alone until the house is clear of any immediate danger. Suddenly realizing that Horse is aiming his blunderbuss from the other side of the room, Balloch sprints forward before he can react. He blasts Horse into unconsciousness with his rifled musket before Horse can fire the deadly weapon. Not wasting any time, Bill rushes in and loots Horse's things. He replaces his own leather armor with Horse's, and gives the blunderbuss to Fairchild. Not a second later, six more zombies appear from the door that Cannon hid behind. The narrow hallway proves to be an obstacle for the zombies, though, and ▄ndernacht mows them down one by one as they mindlessly shuffle forward. Fairchild decides to give the blunderbuss to Balloch, as Balloch has already proven his skills as a marksman. Eager to test out the new weapon, Balloch takes aim at the mysterious lock and fires in an attempt to shoot the lock off of the door. To his confusion, the door glows a greenish hue and seems to absorb the shot. He moves forward to investigate, but, suddenly, the door reacts to his movement. The shot is blasted out of the door to the right, knocking Talon off her feet back into the kitchen. In shock, Balloch falls to his knees, horrified by what he has done. The rest of the party stays behind him, not wanting to repeat his mistake. After a few minutes, they hear a noise in the kitchen. A moment later, Talon shuffles out of the kitchen, covered in blood. Fairchild asks her is she is alright, and she raises her head in response. But something is not quite right. She stares ahead with a dead, gray look in her eyes, and suddenly rushes toward the party. Balloch, still prostrate on the floor, does not notice. Bill shouts a warning to him, but Talon jumps right over him toward ▄ndernacht, who is still busy with the zombies. ▄ndernacht hears Bill's shout and turns around, just in time to see Talon's spear bury itself in the wall where his head was seconds before.
Barely managing to dodge the spear in time, ▄ndernacht is forced to disengage from the zombies to defend himself. The remaining zombies slip past ▄ndernacht and move toward Balloch, who has recovered from the guilt of accidentally hurting Talon. He has realized the she cannot possibly be acting under her own will; she must be under the control of... something. A moment later, the idea clicks into his mind. "Maybe... maybe... it was him!" Balloch charges toward the locked door, shouting, "Let me at him! Let me at that monkey!" Of course, he is unable to get through the door, as it is clearly imbued with some kind of magic. Jim reaches into his satchel, figuring that the bone pipe he picked up earlier might have some effect on the lock. His hunch proves correct as the smoke from the pipe causes the door to click open. Jim calls over to the rest of the party, and opens the door wide. Suddenly, an ethereal human-shaped figure rushes toward Jim and knocks him out of the room. Jim appears to be stunned but otherwise unharmed. Fairchild also tries to enter the room but is met by the same response from the strange figure. The specter also attacks Balloch before retreating into the room and locking the door again. Hearing the zombies closing in behind them, Fairchild realizes that there is no effective way of dealing with the ghostly guardian and orders everyone into the kitchen. Bill, however, hears a noise and goes downstairs to investigate. The party prepares for the zombies while Fairchild hatches a plan...
Thinking quickly, Fairchild takes his bar of soap from his bag and begins making soapy water in one of the blood-encrusted pans in the kitchen. At first confused, the others quickly catch on to Fairchild's plan. He spreads the soapy water across the stair landing and waits patiently for the zombies to come. In a moment of pure comedy gold, Fairchild gives the first zombie a shove as it approaches the kitchen. The rest of the party stifles their laughter as it tumbles helplessly down the stairs. The trap seems to be almost too effective as three more victims, including Talon, lose their footing at the top of the stairs. Peeking around the corner, Jim realizes that they forgot to bring ▄ndernacht into the kitchen with the rest of the party. He sees a badly injured Horse rise up in the corner of the room and move toward ▄ndernacht, who is occupied with yet another wave of zombies. Jim tries to warn him, but is too late and Horse pummels ▄ndernacht into oblivion.
Meanwhile, Bill has arrived at the front door of the plantation home to see Lady Zoe on her white horse return with the remaining five of Bobˇ's crew. Taking advantage of the situation, Bill moves around to the right side of the house with two of Bobˇ's men. About a minute later, he spots a monkey in one of the swamp trees whom Bill immediately recognizes as Bobˇ. He appears to be holding something, and a strange chant is issuing from his mouth. Realizing Bobˇ's betrayal, Bill prepares his flintlock pistols just as Talon breaks out of the front doors with her spear and heads toward the three men.
